We were suppose to have New Chorus Workshop today, but it was cancelled due to the bad weather. So the Dh musicians ended up having Sunday rehearsal, which went well, i must say :) enjoy playing 2nd kb again! esp when karl's playing...hehe
anyway, practice ended at 9.30pm and i decided to join brian, ben jin, jamie and kenny at hot chocolate cafe for a nice cup of hot choc! but since i knew i'll be back late, i decided to call my dad to tell him. He said, don't go cuz got food at home and it's quite late... but i told him it was a really cold rainy day and a perfect time to have nice cup of delicious hot choc.
and so i went...
then thing is, the roads around the cafe were very dark. On top of that, it was raining, so the roads were wet and the rain made it quite reflective. As a result, as i was turning up this rather steep road, i misjudged the turn and landed one of my car's tires into the drain! :S
took me awhile to realise what happened. i quickly called the guys in the the cafe (it was just down the road) and eventually the other guys came to help too...
it was quite a difficult situation, cuz it was still raining. the guys tried lifting the car, but it was too heavy. In the end someone came up with the idea of using carjacks to lift one side of my car up so that the car tire is out of the drain.
Eventually, the guys managed to do it...I seriously THANK GOD for them!
really blessed, cuz they all were wet in the rain. some even got down on their knees to fix the car jack...so yea, it's really nice to know that there are friends out there who are very willing to help a friend in need :)
I have learnt my lesson as well. Should have listened to my dad. lol
to the guys who helped me out and who were there:
adrian chew, adrian lee, brian, ben jin, daniel, kenny, jamie, and jen
thank you! :)

There is this big burden in my heart...It weighs me down everytime i hear about the things that are said and the division it is causing. It saddens me alot. But enough said here, for now. Don't want to start a debate or even an argument because it will not make things any better. It hurts to see things like this happening. It hurts deeply. But I will keep praying, and know that all things will work out for good because God is in control. And this is where faith comes in to believe that He knows what He's doing...
On top of that, she's being difficult. Yes, i know you're in pain. But please don't let it out on other ppl, especially when they are trying to help you and make it easier for you so that you won't be in so much pain. It becomes even harder to help you, let alone be around you. sigh..and the thing is, you've stopped believing...you probably don't even realise!
I'm fine...just have alot of thoughts running around in my head.
Need to cut my hair Need to clean my wadrobe Need to practice my violin Need to take a dear friend out for her belated birthday treat Need to spend more time seeking God Need to improve on my piano skills Need to shop for more formal wear Need to die daily to self Need to organize things properly Need to sleep earlier Need to be more patient Need to love my dog more Need to clean my toilet Need to lose some weight Need to exercise more Need to do so much more...
On another note, I watched 'I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry'. I was watching it for awhile and then I couldn't take it anymore. Not that the show was thaat bad (it wasn't great la), but I really didn't want to be 'polluted' by that show.
I realised that the many movies, drama series, tv series, etc. we watch are actually, in a subtle manner, planting worldly values in our minds. For example, values like sex before marriage is okay...it is ok to cheat on your spouses...gays and lesbians should be accepted the way they are...etc.
Obviously, these mediums do not teach you directly to do these things...but watching stuff like this over and over again in movies, shows, etc. gets you accustomed to it and you'll eventually accept these kind of values. It almost becomes acceptable when you find out that this man left his wife for another lady, because as you watched it many times on TV, it happens.
Now, I'm not saying that we should NOT watch movies or tv shows totally. I'm just saying that we have to be very selective with what we choose to watch.
what kind of values or information do you really want to feed yourself with?

Decisions, decisions...
I honestly dread decisions...somehow, i'm very indecisive. I simply cannot make decisions in certain situations...
And it's fustrating. It really is...Especially when an answer is needed very very soon. Sigh...
And somehow when it comes to even making small decisions, i make silly choices..
Everything is equally important! gosh... and i'm simply not firm enough...not firm in saying NO to other people and not firm with myself. if i don't make this decision soon, it's gonna be bad... wears and tears are starting to show. pulling me in every direction. can't take it any longer.
And to go or not to go?which one??when?how?
sigh..
i wish God would audibly give me instructions on what to do...i really wish. it would make things much much easier...
Life's choices Calling out to me I hear all these voices My heart just can't see
Life poses These questions to me Coffee or Tea?

Neways, I just visited the mpyo official site and heard us play Ria! and Danse Bacchanale...watched the video of us performing the London Symphony too.
It sounded good! and i'm not saying this to boast or show off...cuz seriously, this was the first time i actually heard us play when i'm not IN the orchestra. and it sounds SO different! LOL!
not saying that it sucked from where i'm sitting, but i guess the majority of sound i hear are the violins...heh...up close...so can hear the squeaks and out of tune notes some times...
but overall, as an orchestra, from outside, it sounded good (and because of the AMAZING accousitc in Dewan Filharmonik Petronas..heh)
When i was watching the London Symphony video, it was overwhelming. Overwhelming because I realised how privileged and how blessed I was to be able to be in the MPYO. and how much I've learnt and grown as a musician there...and I really want to thank God for the opportunity.
neways, if you want, you can go check it out at www.mpyo.com.my :)

I went to take a shower just now and when i stepped into the bathroom, i started laughing non-stop!! i really couldn't stop...so yea, was showering while laughing throughout...hehehe...
why??
my mom placed the dog shampoo in my bathroom together with my dove conditioner which i bought today!! LOL...
she didn't even realise it was dog shampoo! so there i was, staring at the dog shampoo, wondering what it was doing there next to all my toiletries! and it even had a picture of a dog and a cat! apple flavour....it says " apple shampoo with Conditioner...for fresher, cleaner and smoother coat"...LOL!!
*takes deep breath*
ok, i know it may not even be funny for some of you, if not all of you who are reading this, but this kinda made my day :) cuz it just made me laugh until i couldn't stop...ehehe and yes, laughter is a good medicine :D

Today during Pastor David's sermon, he said something which struck me...
there are alot of people out there who are 'shouting' for help with their actions and the way they handle situations, make decisions, etc. they may say that they're totally fine and stuff, but in actual fact most of the time they are not...
do we CARE enough to 'listen' to these cries for help? or are we too engrossed with our own selfs to care for those in need?
to a few of you who actually bothered and cared enough to notice when i wasn't alright even without me saying a thing, thank you...and i appreciate you...you know who you are :)
it's a CHOICE we make to be sensitive to other people's feelings. I guess by just even asking sincerely how that person feels when you notice that he/she's not ok would make a difference.
Pastor David also said something that strucked me. when Jesus cared for his mother and the criminal crucified next to Him on the cross, He was at His weakest, most vulnerable point. that has taught me that even when I'm not really okay myself, I can still reach out and relate and care for others...
Anyways, going down south for another audition...went for one in KL where they came here...it didn't go too well...basically because I was nervous and not well prepared. Had less than 3 weeks to prepare a concerto and a paganini caprice :S
and the MPYO camp was a success :) praise God! they renovated the hotel! hehe...so it was really really nice staying there...got new sony flat screen tv :) k la, not like we were in the hotel much anyways...but yea...it was cool!
neways, gotta go sleep...i'm still quite sleep deprived due to the camp. might be going down to singapore tmw night...have a great week everyone!
And if you need a turning point in your life,

GONG XI FA CHAI!!!
to everyone who celebrates CNY :)
i really enjoy CNY..it's one of my most favourite times of the year! i'm looking forward to it...cuz:
-
i get a good holiday
-
it's just such a joyous time of the year, spent with family and friends...
-
ANG POWS!
-
FOOD!
-
chinese shows? (hmmm...not reli sure about that this year)
had reunion dinner earlier...and it went well :)
compared to last year's, this year's reunion dinner was great la... cuz my cousins came back from overseas with their spouses and babies :) and it just changes the atmosphere when there are children in the family... oh n i had relatives from taiwan who came down... :D it's been reaaallly long since they came down...like about 10 years?
hehe...went back to OUG to my mom's side... i drove down about 2pm to help out with preparations... before that i dropped by bangsar to get my eyebrows threaded...heh
THEN, i saw blook nearby...and decided to go checkout some clothes... cuz somehow, i didn't really manage to get many new clothes for CNY...just a top... so i went in, tried some clothes and left a happy girl, cuz i bought a dress and a top :D
when i got to my aunty's house, there were quite alot of helpers...my cousins were there...so i was assigned to baby-sit my niece, elise :) she's such a PRETTY and cute baby! my cousin married a french, so her kids are cute and good looking :) neways, i have learnt, that entertaining a 9 month old baby is no easy task! haha...but all the same, i'm growing attached to her!! (and so is the rest of the family...heh)
also, i was like bonding with my 'aunty' from taiwan... she's only a year older...quite boyish...she's actually my mom's cousin we click quite well...the only problem (which is a MAJOR one) - language barrier
my mandarin is horrible! and so is her english...lol...so u can imagine us trying to communicate with one another ;)
neways, i'll update soon if i can...will post nice pics of my niece...hehe...have really cute ones of her! :D
till then, have a blessed Chinese New Year everyone! and as Pastor Steven preached on sun, remember that God's spirit is dwelling within us...be very aware that God is with us wherever we are :)

the switchfoot concert was awesome! :)
interesting experience!hehe...we reached kl convention centre at about 6 sumthing...managed to squeeze thru and get to where rach, marilyn, sheryl, etc. were standing... it was quite funny la, cuz we were like running to the LRT station...running to KLCC...cuz we thought we were late (doors supposedly open at 6pm)... so yea, when all 10 of us were running, it seemed as tho we were chased by someone (got weird stares from ppl..heh) or we were chasing someone...haha
neways, didn't really have dinner...and was actually quite tired from running...and standing so much...
but, the switchfoot was great! they were good performers and at the end of the day, it wasn't just a rock concert...but it was a rock concert with meaning la...cuz the songs they sang had depth in it...and at the end the lead singer was like talking about life...and how it meant more than material things, possesions, etc...that there was just a greater meaning to it! :) then he sang my fav song...hehe...gone! lol
the only minor setback was that i was quite short...hehe...and in the beginning there was this tall dude standing in front of me...and the annoying thing was he kept pushing back, and was being really inconsiderate...but it was a good thing he moved to the front after that...
we were standing quite near the stage...towards the corner...near the huge speakers...haha...and as a result, i was quite deaf after the concert...especially after having ppl around me screaming in my ears! sorta lost my voice too...heh... :)
neways, when ppl heard i was going for the concert, they had funny reactions...haha...one even said he would pay RM123 just to watch us (me, emmy, belle...) 'concert-virgins' at the concert...heh... but yea, this would probably be the only rock concert i will go in a long long time...cuz it's switchfoot! and also cuz i went with a group of ppl (mostly girls..heh) i was really comfortable with la...
so all in all, it was a well spent RM123 ;)

I played for a funeral service on sunday evening... it was the funeral of a 35 year old christian man... usually, i've been to funerals of old ppl...but never to one this young i think
neways, i think he died in an accident...not sure tho... and the thing is, we all know and have heard it so many times... "life is short" "life is fragile" but it was that day that i was reminded again...that life is short and fragile...
and i felt sad...cuz i saw this man's family just grieving over his death...his mother especially and his sisters were crying even at the start of the service...it's just sad to see them like that...
anyways, most of his family weren't Christians...but praise God that they accepted Jesus as their Lord after the sermon...and it was amazing, how a 'lost' life here on earth can result in 3-4 new lives added into the kingdom of God :)
when this man's brother-in-law read his eulogy, he said one thing that struck me... "Let's not remember Edwin (the deceased) for how he died, but the life that he lived" i want to be remembered next time for the life that i've lived...
Gone, like yeterday is gone, Like history is gone, The world keeps spinning on, Your going going gone, Like summer break is gone, Like saturday is gone Just try to prove me wrong You pretend like your immortal your immortal
We are not infinite We are not permanent Nothing is immediate We're so confident In our accomplishments Look at our decadence
Gone, like Frank Sinatra Like Elvis and his mom Like AL Pacino's cash nothing lasts in this life My highschool dreams are gone My childhood sweets are gone Life is a day that doesn't last for long
(Gone by Switchfoot)
***************************************************************************************************
neways, today i had korean dinner with my family, tab's family and sheryl :) what turned out to be a casual korean dinner just to satisfy my mom's desire to eat korean food became a very good time of fellowship over good food *satisfied smile*
tab, i'm glad ur parents came along :) i know my parents enjoyed themselves..hehe..
okies...it's late...gonna go to bed now... on a random note, my poor dog is infested with ticks! lots and lots of them...and these ticks are infesting my porch and walls...and the cracks in the walls...don't like :S
